We have a family news page.
Mike is a computer geek. He was born on July 28, 1967 in Oregon
City. As a pastor's kid (P.K.) he lived in many places in the Pacific
Northwest, but considers Portland his home. He works as a software developer for Intel at the
Jones Farm campus in Hillsboro. His hobbies include model railroading,
the Linux operating system, programming in Java and C++, science,
fantasy fiction, roleplaying games, and playing the guitar.
Rebecca has a degree in English and is currently a homemaker. She
was born on November 23, 1967.She enjoys 20's to 40's era movies and
music (especially Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra), Star Trek, reading,
fashion design, Disco and 80's New Wave music, and racquetball. In
addition to English she has a fair command of Spanish.
We were married on August 26, 1995. We had a small wedding here
in Portland. Tom Harvey (Mike's father) performed the ceremony. Our
colors were silver and black. The bridesmaids and groomsmen danced down
the aisle to the "Love Boat" theme song. Then when the ceremony was
finished, we shook our booty down the aisle to "Stayin' Alive"
our song.
Joshua is our firstborn. He came into the world promptly
on schedule on October 10, 1998. He absolutely loves trains, a
vice undoubtedly inherited from his father. He has a set of Brio and
Thomas wooden trains, his own N scale layout, and some HO stuff that
we'll put to use someday.
Sterling is the newest addition to our family. He was born on May
9, 2002. He's still too young to have acquired any interests other than
putting things in his mouth, but he sure is cute.
Natsumi Suzuki is an honorary addition to our family. She was a
high school exchange student who lived with us for almost a year, from
August 2000 to June 2001. She now lives in Japan where she is attending
college, although she came and visited us this summer.
Vinnie is our cat. He was abandoned by his former owner, so we
took him in. He used to fetch little balls we'd throw for him, but these
days he's gotten too lazy... or too smart. Now when we throw a ball, he
glances up at us and goes back to sleep. Poor Vinnie. He used to be a
pampered indoor cat, but after a few "accidents" in our house, and after
clawing up one of our couches and shredding it to bits, he was banished
to the great outdoors. He seems to like it well enough, except for the
wet Oregon winters!
As a family, we live in Beaverton, Oregon, and attend True Life Fellowship
Church.
Pictures! That's what you're really here for, isn't it?
